Leighanne Krystal Mroczka - Freelance Fashion Stylist, Creative Director and Founder of LKM Style
From the moment I first watched Sex and the City, I knew fashion was the right career for me. Born and raised in London, I saw individualism expressed through fashion everywhere I went. In 2006, upon moving to Manchester, my passion for the industry was further ignited when I began building my experience and expanding my creative network whilst volunteering at fashions shows and photoshoots.
Fast forward to today and I’ve now had the pleasure of collaborating with a whole range of clients and companies across the UK. From working on editorials for Sarvin and Mirror Image Style and creatively directing at Jsky’s Fashion Night to styling celebrity clients and taking people on inspiring personal shopping trips, every day brings a new client and an exciting new challenge. No two projects are ever the same and that’s what I love most about my job and the fashion industry itself.
If asked who my favourite fashion designers are, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood would definitely be high on the list. Their collections are always inspirational and completely individual, making a statement with each garment created. It’s not just about the clothes for them but about trying to stand for something, too.
Through my own work, I try to be as unique, versatile and accessible as possible. Someone who is keen to work with any client no matter their gender, style preferences, location or budget. Every project brings a different responsibility and I’ve been lucky enough to work with people from all walks of life.
In the future, I’d like to expand my fashion horizons even more. I’ve styled music videos in the past but want to extend this experience to film and TV, eventually becoming a go-to person for fashion and media styling. Having work published is always incredible so being featured in more creative publications and magazines is also a big goal of mine in the years to come.
